Born and raised in New York City, I have lived the culture, infrastructure and excitement of New York City my entire life. Let me now share all this with you.
I have been a licensed NYC sightseeing tour guide since 2010. My specialties are:
- the World Trade Center, original and rebuilt, and Lower Manhattan. I am a survivor of both attacks on the WTC and I will describe to you what I experienced there.
- the Lower East Side - immigrant history and culture, personalities, institutions and sites since colonial times. My parents, aunts and uncles, who were born and spent their early years on the LES, imparted on me their every day love of this most famous immigrant neighborhood. I now would love to share that with you.
- the flavor and sites of various other neighborhoods of New York, also an interest of mine.
I can devise a custom tour to your liking, which will be fun and exciting for both of us.
I am a survivor of both attacks on the World Trade Center, having worked in the towers for eleven years. In my tours of the National 9/11 Memorial and the surrounding area, I involve you in the experience of life in the towers and I discuss first hand details of what people experienced on the days of the attacks and what occurred in the aftermath. Finally, you will learn about the spirit and meaning of the elements of the new World Trade Center. I can devise a tour discussing victims in different groupings by nationality, workplace, etc.
I have also developed a tour of Liberty Park, highlighting the exciting features around the park, which sits upon the Vehicle Security Entrance to the areas below the World Trade Center.
In my tours of the Lower East Side, I bring to life the immigrant experience on the LES, particularly during the late nineteenth century and the early to mid-twentieth century through the eyes of my ancestors; the stories of their adventures in that neighborhood permeated my life. Let me give you this and more in a fun tour.
When you join me on a tour, the community and its history become vivid!
