Joe Rosenberg

Specialities:  Behind-the-scenes theatre visit; Theatre District walking exploration; all Manhattan neighborhoods; most Brooklyn neighborhoods, many Queens neighborhoods, many neighborhoods in The Bronx, some neighborhoods in Staten Island.  

Bio:   In large part responsible for the landmark designation of Radio City Music Hall, Disney's New Amsterdam Theatre, 35 Broadway Theatres, Town Hall, and the Beacon Theatre.  Co-founder and former president of the NYC Historic Districts Council.  In large part responsible for the landmark designation of approximately 10 historic districts, including SoHo, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Sniffin Court, Park Slope, Fort Greene, DUMBO, Prospect Park South, and Ditmas Park.  Former Chair of the Preservation Committee of the Brooklyn Heights Association. 

Lecturer:  On the QE2, Queen Mary 2, and in Moscow (Topics:  New York Architecture and New York Theatre).  With legendary actress Helen Hayes (Topic:  The Importance of Historic Theatres).  For Disney Theatricals (Topic:  the New Amsterdam Theatre)

Honors:  Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded in Hollywood by the League of Historic American Theatres for contributions to the U.S. Theatre Preservation Movement.  Long time member of the Board of Directors of the League of Historic American Theatres.
